Vacuum Vessels

Vacuum Vessels

Here at Invacua we have designed, manufactured and commissioned stainless steel and aluminium high vacuum vessels.

Dipole Vacuum Vacuum Vessels

Invacua Ltd were chosen by UKRI Daresbury to manufacture two vacuum dipole vessels for the European spallation Source beam line. With beam line physics the following are important factors when designing and manufacturing vessels:

• Customer specifications and vacuum requirements.

• Material selection.

• Cleanliness, here at Invacua we offer UHV chemical cleaning and vacuum out-gassing.

• Magnetic Permeability, Invacua has two vacuum outgassing furnaces to perform heat treatments to reduce magnetic permeability.

• Manufacturing to tight tolerances.

• Testing, Invacua performs in house vessel baking, RGA testing, helium leak testing and magnetic permeability testing.

Vacuum Test Vessels

Invacua were selected to design and manufacture an electrode testing vacuum vessel.  The complex part of this vessel was the movement of the electrodes within the test vessel from the outside while maintaining a vacuum of 10-6 mbar. The Important factors to consider when designing and manufacturing a vessel of this type are as follows:

• Customer specifications and vacuum requirements.

• Material selection.

• Cleanliness, here at Invacua we offer UHV chemical cleaning and vacuum out-gassing.

• Vacuum pump selection.

• Manufacturing to tight tolerances.

• Testing, Invacua performs in house vessel baking, RGA testing and helium leak testing.

Helium Leak Testing Vessel

During the manufacture of parts at Invacua it is often necessary to design and construct bespoke helium leak test fixtures to test their integrity.  These fixtures are vacuum vessels in them self and have to follow all the design requirements as outlined previously.  The most important design factor is the fixture has to seal to the work piece undertest otherwise there is the potentially to fail a product that is not leaking.
